“He may well be one of the greatest young musicians I have ever had the privilege to be around.  David Foster

Brandon Goldberg is an extraordinarily gifted pianist, who combines a jazz sensibility with significant classical  chops, using dynamics effectively, and a touch that varies in accordance with his intentions, whispering a  single note line in the right hand one moment, tossing off a casual blues riff the next, and thundering chords  with two hands later in the same piece. He puts his formidable technique into the service of expressing his  musical ideas.

Brandon, at 19 years old, is already recognized as one of the greatest young musicians in the world today.  “He has unassailable technique, advanced harmonic understanding and a deep sense of swing and, most  impressively, a clarity and plethora of ideas executed to near-perfection.” According to Downbeat  Magazine.

On May 22, 2022, Brandon Goldberg made his astonishing debut at the MIPF when he was only 16 years old.  His MIPF recital at the Wolfsonian-FIU Museum in Miami Beach marked the first time he had performed as a  soloist, presenting his take on some of the songs by Cole Porter, George Gershwin and Irving Berlin that  make up the heart of the Great American Songbook, an ever-expanding treasure chest of compositions that  have been the wellspring of jazz improvisation since the early 1930’s.

Brandon opens this performance as a soloist, later inviting his extraordinary trio on stage. Solo jazz piano  presents challenges to a player accustomed to group settings – he must become his own rhythm section and  provide the steady time-keeping that is usually the job of the bass player and drummer. The jazz solo pianist  must set and hold the musical mood over the course of the entire performance, unlike a classical pianist,  while improvising the entire time. Brandon is a genius able to confront these challenges creating music  interest as he approaches each tune with an arranger’s sensibility.

The program will continue in a trio setup featuring Brandon Goldberg on the piano, Vincent Dupont on the  bass, and Aaron Kimmel on the drums. This performance will inevitably be timeless. As with any trio, each  musician is equally important, even while filling utterly different roles. The power and inspiration come not  only from Goldberg’s leadership, but the interwoven brilliance of the ensemble’s three unified minds.

The MIPF is proud to present Brandon Goldberg providing him with opportunities to perform and share his  incredible and special talent with classical audiences. He is without a doubt a high-level classical jazz artist.

Mission of Patrons of Exceptional Artists

Exceptionally talented pianists, with unwavering dedication, devote their entire youth to developing their skills,  abiding by rigid and demanding schedules, and focusing on achieving a successful music career. During this  arduous process, they often find themselves lost without the support and understanding of a benefactor. That is  where the mission and purpose of Patrons of Exceptional Artists comes in, an organization that, for the last 25  years, has brought the talent of countless deserving pianists to the attention of the public, conductors, and  agents. Many of our artists are now on the international circuit, represented by top management.

To enrich its mission, in 1998, Patrons of Exceptional Artists branched out to create the now-celebrated Miami  International Piano Festivals and Academy, where students experience the hands-on immersion of working  closely with an outstanding international faculty. In the winter, the MIPFA takes place at the beautiful Cadet

Hotel in Miami Beach, and in the summer at the Gustav Mahler Cultural Center in Dobbiaco, Italy, a gateway to  the Dolomites, about which Mahler wrote, “Dobbiaco is extraordinary: it tempers your body and soul.”

We have also expanded our outreach through an online state-of-the-art virtual platform that continues to evolve,  creating an archive and visual library of all MIPF activities. The goal is to provide global exposure to our artists  while allowing music lovers worldwide to enjoy our concerts, lectures, and masterclasses. The Miami  International Piano Festival concerts are interactive experiences that engage our audiences and enhance their  appreciation of music in its infinite prism of ideas and emotions.

Giselle Brodsky, founder and artistic director of Patrons of Exceptional Artists, spends hundreds of hours listening to innumerable performances of hopeful applicants to select artists who, with their passion and  commitment to the expression of music, will inspire and be inspired by our faculty, students, and audience.

Patrons Of Exceptional Artists is a 501 (C) (3) non-profit organization. For more information, contact Giselle Brodsky, at info@miamipianofest.com or visit our website at www.miamipianofest.com
