PhilanthroFest, the nation’s largest community engagement festival, presents their carnival-inspired event to connect people, passion and philanthropy. PhilanthroFest will take place on Sat., Apr. 11, 2015 @ Museum Park (1075 Biscayne Blvd., Miami, FL 33132 — located between PAMM and American Airlines Arena) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the goal of connecting potential volunteers, donors and supporters to causes and non-profit organizations.
PhilanthroFest will bring together dozens of artists, over 100 causes, and thousands of attendees looking to engage and learn about what the community has to offer and ways to give back. By transforming 30 acres at Museum Park into a carnival dreamland, PhilanthroFest will offer locals the opportunity to dream, create and inspire while enjoying an interactive experience with food, music and dance performances, games, live giveaways and special surprises throughout the day. Organizations will share their mission, offerings and engagement options in the various Community Walks featuring causes focused on City & Environment, People & Education, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Health & Wellness and Arts & Culture.

This year’s PhilanthroFest takes the concept of giving to a new level with a carefully curated carnival theme where imaginations soar and dreams become reality. Special zones are dedicated to unique engagement opportunities for children and parents alike:
CENTERSTAGE: Entertains the whole family with special performances by a variety of performers including participating arts and culture groups. The festival aims to introduce children to philanthropy and inspire the next generation of giving through the Giving Circle. The Giving Circle offers children the opportunity to play interactive carnival games and collect PhilanthroCoins as they win! The children can donate their PhilanthroCoins to any charity they choose. At the end of the festival, the participating cause with the most PhilanthroCoins will be named the Giving Circle Winner.
FUNVILLE: Bounce, soar, learn and unleash your creative spirit with fun interactive adventures including a 20-stop Scavenger Hunt sponsored by Yelp, a 30 foot slide, a bounce castle, and an obstacle course. Plus, there will be a rare appearance by world-famous Twiggy the Waterskiing Squirrel followed by paw signings with her fans.
THE SCIENCE TREEHOUSE: A special area for children of all ages presented by The Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science. Enjoy live science demonstrations and engaging hands-on activities with real scientists including a rocket launcher blast off.
HERO CITY: Real heroes don’t always wear capes, and many of our real-life hometown heroes from all 5 branches and local precincts will be on hand to give kids tours of police cruisers, firetrucks and military vehicles.
FIELD OF DREAMS: Enjoy one of the newest parks in Miami by kicking back with your family and friends on the field of dreams. Fly a kite with your kids, catch an afternoon yoga class.
ART VILLAGE: If you’re looking for creative inspiration, don’t miss the Culture Walk which will feature artist tents and an area devoted to arts & culture related causes. There will also be a 200 ft. zip line overlooking Biscayne Bay. Alberto Carvalho, Superintendent of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, along with local celebrities will be riding PhilanthroFest’s zip line at 2 p.m. using a GoPro camera to record his experience!
OFF THE GRID, A PICNIC WITH ARTIST EUGENIO ESPINOZA: This interactive work will be on display on the grounds of Museum Park as part of an exclusive collaboration with the Perez Art Museum Miami. Families will be able to play and picnic on Eugenio Espinoza’s signature black and white grid in the form of a giant blanket by the bay. Festival attendees will experience the limitless creative possibilities of the grid with hands-on art making activities facilitated and inspired by the artist. Event activation will be held from 1:00- 4:00 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to interact and engage with the causes and performers on-site, sign up to volunteer and donate time, talent or treasure to causes that align with their passions and values.
