Bazaar for Good benefits disadvantaged children

The Bazaar for Good, a fashionable celebration that serves as a bridge between brands, influencers and social causes, took place on Thursday, Nov. 21, at Miami Design District’s Paradise Plaza.

The Bazaar for Good was founded in 2018 with the purpose of focusing all efforts on aiding underprivileged children. Founder Martha Graeff and co-founder Danié Gomez-Ortigoza both share a passion for improving the lives of disadvantaged children and the belief that social media can be used as a catalyst for change.

Last year, the Bazaar for Good concentrated its efforts on helping to build a kindergarten dorm for Shanti Bhavan’s school in Karnataka, India. As a result, this dorm now provides full-time housing to 24 students, two aunties, one school nurse and one supervisor. This year, the Bazaar for Good focuses on aiding the children of Venezuela.

“We aspire to improve the situation of children suffering from the most imperative issues plaguing our world, and we translate this desire into action by using the tools and influence at our disposal,” Graeff said.

Based off the success of last year, this year’s festivities consisted of two parts. First, a shopping experience that included over 100 brands such as Alice and Olivia, Pitusa, Boho Hunter, Antigua, Angel Sanchez, Shutz and more, who all graciously donated extraordinary pieces or items to be sold. Following the shopping component, the Bazaar for Good partnered with RAW Residency to host a series of talks led by RAW Residency founder Cristina Sosa. The forum hosted notable panelists including Camila Canabal, Santi Chumaceiro, Rodner Figueroa, Mireya Cisneros and Francisco Costa, the entrepreneur behind Costa Brazil and former creative director of Calvin Klein Collection’s women’s wear line and chief women’s wear designer at Gucci.

Among the notable attendees who supported the cause were Camila Canabal, Chiquinquirá Delgado, Karen Martínez, Irma Martínez, Daniela Botero, Jenny Lopez, Andy Faerman, Sarah Mac Millan, Carolina Lindo, Gabriela Medina, Seyma Subasi, Two Trends and more.
One hundred percent of the proceeds were donated to Hospital Ortopedico Infantil, Hogar Bambi, Fundana and Fe y Alegría with the support of Unidos en Red.
