Celebrate the Arsht Center’s 14th anniversary with a benefit concert featuring Patti LaBelle, on Apr. 4, 7 p.m., in the Knight Concert Hall. Tickets range from $45 to $125.
Synonymous with grace, style, elegance and class, LaBelle is revered for versatility, with a repertoire ranging from classic rhythm and blues to pop standards and spiritual sonnets. Having sold more than 50 million records, LaBelle has enjoyed one of the longest and most
lauded careers in entertainment as a recording artist, actress and best-selling author.
World renowned for her dynamic career as an entertainer and entrepreneurial success, LaBelle’s work as a humanitarian is just as legendary. She remains an advocate for adoption and prevention of diabetes, cancer and HIV/AIDS, among other causes and non-profit initiatives.
This concert is part of the Arsht Center’s annual Gala. Following the concert at 8:30 p.m. it will be time to Party on the Plaza: Celebrating the Diaspora. Activities take place on the Thomson Plaza for the Arts, Ziff Ballet Opera House.
Tickets are $75 which include bites and cocktails.
The joyous and vibrant after-party will feature complimentary bites, cocktails and dancing in front of the venter’s iconic Carnival Tower. Deejays Private Ryan and Barrie Hype will get the crowd on its feet before Alison Hinds, the undisputed “Queen of Soca,” takes the stage to wow fans with her vocals and high-energy Caribbean music.
Proceeds from the after-party support the Arsht Center’s Miami Diaspora Fund, which funds the commissioning and presenting of multicultural artists who live in Miami or who share Miami’s New American view of the world.
