Friends of The Underline (FUL), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization advocating to transform the underutilized land below Miami’s Metrorail into a 10-mile linear park, urban trail and canvas for artistic expression, recently announced that Amy Rosenberg has been hired as chief development officer.
In this role, Rosenberg will work with the FUL to drive private fundraising and development efforts to support the construction and operations of The Underline project.
“2018 is going to be a decisive and exciting year for this transformative project and adding Amy to our team is perfect timing as we look to significantly grow our private donor base,” said Meg Daly, CEO of Friends of The Underline. “As a long time non-profit fundraiser in our community, Amy has deep relationships and knowledge that we know will be invaluable in achieving both our short and long-term development goals.”
Rosenberg joins FUL from the National YoungArts Foundation, where she was director of annual giving. Her long career in non-profit work has included founding/co-founding five charitable organizations such as Dream in Green; Overtown Music Project, and the Arsht Center’s young patrons group, The Green Room Society.
“The Underline is a game-changing project that I have been following closely because it personally excites me and I know how big of an impact it’s going to make for Miami,” Rosenberg said. “I am thrilled to be part of this effort which has already attracted local and national attention and know that Miami’s business, civic and community leaders will continue to embrace and rally behind The Underline.”
The Underline’s first section, Brickell Backyard, is fully funded with construction set to begin by the end of 2018. Most recently, the project received up to $15 million in funding from the City of Coral Gables that will come from impact fees.
