Catholic Legal Services recently sounded the trumpets for professionals to assist in making a difference in their community at the May 20 New Americans Campaign Citizenship Clinic in Miami — and they received a good response. But the work must continue — and volunteers are still needed for the several upcoming clinics throughout South Florida.
The New Americans Campaign is a collaboration of local community organizations and legal service providers who, with the help of pro-bono attorneys and trained volunteers, help legal permanent residents (LPRs) become U.S. citizens by completing naturalization applications at free events throughout South Florida.
Catholic Legal Services hosts a regular series of multi-site mega events for which immigration attorneys and volunteers are needed to help complete applications, interpret, help with logistics, and perform other important tasks.
Volunteers must attend a mandatory training in-person or online, so please visit www.miaminac.org and click on “Become a Volunteer” on the main page to register. Also find details about upcoming volunteer training dates on the website. Click on the “Get Involved” tab to find this information.
