Miami Dade College (MDC) will host a new edition of the popular Mike Fernandez Global Business Leadership Series with Western Union Global Money Transfer president Odilon Almeida on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 9:45 a.m., at MDC’s Wolfson Campus in Downtown Miami.
With a career spanning more than 30 years in global financial, fintech, telecom and fast-moving consumer goods, Almeida leads Western Union’s global consumer omni-channel business across more than 200 countries and territories, bridging all continents.
With a 17-year tenure at Western Union, he most recently served as the company’s president of the Americas and European Union.
Almeida’s global business leadership and board experience at Western Union, Millicom, BankBoston, the Coca-Cola Company and Colgate-Palmolive, have given him deep knowledge of corporate governance, general management, technology platforms, regulatory and compliance, as well as consumer insights. Almeida also is a non-executive director of Millicom International, serving as chair of the Compliance and Business Conduct Committee.
The Mike Fernandez Global Business Leadership Series provides students with first-hand knowledge of best business practices and leadership by inviting top, renowned executives to share their experiences and discuss new trends in their respective industries.
