Miami Theater Center (MTC) will host the first Teen Theater Workshop this summer in conjunction with Musical Theater Summer Camp for young kids.
Aspiring thespians between the ages of 6 and 12 are encouraged to sign up for summer camp and those between 13 and 18 years old can participate in the new teen theater classes.
The first session of Musical Theater Summer Camp will run from June 13 through July 1 and the second session will run July 18 through Aug. 5. Classes for both sessions take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. The inaugural Teen Theater Workshop will start July 5 through July 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Summer camp for kids costs $650 per session and the teen program costs $625.
MTC’s trained, talented company members will direct the theater summer camp classes and open children’s eyes, hearts and minds to the transformational power of musical theater through songwriting, dance and acting. Artistic director, Rosalind Thomas-Clark, from Boston, alongside professional actors Josh Santora and Elyas Harris will lead the theater teen workshop classes. Teens will help develop a professional production based on the play Everyman by Carol Ann Duffy.

Musical Theater Summer Camp classes will take place at Miami Shores Presbyterian Church located at 602 NE 96 St. The Teen Theater Workshop will take place at Miami Theater Center located at 9806 NE Second Avenue in Miami Shores.
