
More than 400 Miami-Dade high school students and educators participated in the Ten80 National STEM League Expo & Invitational on Thursday, Nov. 6, at the iTech @ Thomas A. Edison Educational Center, 6101 NW Second Ave.
Hosted by Ten80 Education with support from the U.S. Army, the event welcomed student teams who were competing in the Student Racing Challenge radio-controlled (RC) car invitational, as well as introduced prospective students to the program through STEM-related (science, technology, engineering and math) workshops.
Activities introduced students to real-life applications of STEM concepts and careers, and included workshops in the areas of racing, mechanical and branding, with a focus on 1:10 scale RC cars. Students also attended a STEM-focused discussion with panelists from the U.S. Army, Don Schumacher Racing and Ten80 Education.
