Foot Print to Success Clubhouse, a non-profit dedicated to transforming the lives of adults with serious mental illness through a therapeutic community, has relocated to 8201 Pembroke Road, Suite 101 in Pembroke Pines from Lauderhill. The new 4,900-square-foot Clubhouse will enhance the nonprofit’s capacity to serve more adults in the region and, for the first time, provide affordable housing to some of its members.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening celebration for the new location was held on February 28, 2025. The event showcased the new state-of-the-art training kitchen, which will be central to the Clubhouse’s job training program, providing members with valuable culinary skills for future employment in the hospitality industry.
Foot Print to Success Clubhouse in Pembroke Pines was made possible through a partnership with Carrfour Supportive Housing, a Miami-based nonprofit that develops and manages supportive housing communities for low-income individuals and families. Carrfour not only provided space for the new Clubhouse location on the ground floor of its new apartment building but also allocated 20 units specifically for Clubhouse members facing housing insecurity.
“The larger Clubhouse in Pembroke Pines underlines the growing need in our community for a restorative environment for people striving every day to improve their lives, which have been severely disrupted by mental illness,” said Foot Print to Success Clubhouse CEO Barbara Harmon. “We are grateful for Carrfour’s support. Because of our partnership, several Clubhouse members now have access to a place they can call home for the first time in their lives. Carrfour’s vision will also allow us to better prepare our Clubhouse members for future job opportunities and social interactions to reach new accomplishments.”
Carrfour’s new development, Southwest Hammocks, features 100 apartments. Half of these units are designated as supportive housing, providing affordable living with support services to help residents maintain stability. The apartments, which include studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units, are available at reduced rates that are affordable to those earning from 25% to 60% of the area’s median income.
The new location has already transformed lives. For example, Marie Honoré-Rigaud moved into her new apartment in June, marking the first time in her life that she has had a place to call her own.
“Moving into my new apartment was a life-changing moment for me. For the first time, I have a place to truly call my own,” said Honoré-Rigaud. “After decades of battling mental health diagnoses, which led to inconsistent work and housing instability, I am now living independently and have steady employment at the Clubhouse. This new chapter in my life has brought me stability and a sense of pride that I have never experienced before.”
Foot Print to Success is one of many Clubhouses worldwide created to provide a supportive environment for individuals looking to rebuild their lives and seek employment after being affected by serious mental illness, enabling them to lead successful and productive lives. Foot Print to Success Clubhouse works on improving the quality of life of its members by teaching them social and job skills. Clubhouse members join voluntarily, becoming essential and active participants in the program designed to dignify their lives and fulfill their dreams.
In nearly 15 years, more than 50 percent of Foot Print to Success Clubhouse members have secured jobs that have generated almost $4 million in wages, leading to significant improvements in their lives and relationships. Remarkable milestones such as this one are made possible through generous donations and meaningful partnerships.
Foot Print to Success Clubhouse looks forward to building on this success and expanding its presence with additional locations through future partnerships and community support.
