The Nonprofit Executive Alliance (NEA) is pleased to announce the
appointment of Rixys Alfonso as its new Executive Director, effective August 1, 2025. Alfonso is an accomplished strategist, advocate, and community connector with over two decades of experience in public relations, marketing, corporate and community partnerships and a strong track record of success in social impact leadership.

Throughout her career, Alfonso has championed purpose-driven initiatives led by nonprofit
organizations and has worked to expand access and opportunity for individuals with
      developmental disabilities and rare disorders.

“As someone who has worked both in and alongside nonprofits for more than two decades, I’ve seen the vital role nonprofit leaders play in strengthening our communities. Their work touches every part of the human experience, from health, education, and beyond. I’m honored to lead an organization that exists to support them, amplify their impact, and ensure they’re never in this work alone.” Rixys Alfonso, Executive Director, Nonprofit Executive Alliance (NEA)

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, we are really excited to take this next step for our
organization. Rixys brings a skill set and passion that aligns with our culture of strengthening our community through leadership support and partnerships. By expanding our team we are able to lean even more into what we do best- supporting nonprofit leaders personally and professionally” says Cornell Crews, Board Chair. “Our members have been craving more opportunities to learn, grow, be supported and develop relationships with other leaders. Rixys is going to be at the helm of bringing this vision to life at a critical time when nonprofits are navigating challenges and changes to the sector. We are excited to make membership even more beneficial and to roll out new collaborations. Rixys and the NEA are positioned to harness the power of collective impact, innovation and rapidly changing times to have a deeper and broader influence in the issues that affect our communities.”

In the last ten years the NEA has grown into the largest nonprofit CEO coalition in Florida. As Executive Director, Alfonso will oversee NEA’s strategic direction and lead efforts to foster collaboration and innovation among nonprofit CEOs across South Florida. Her priorities include strengthening leadership development, deepening member engagement, expanding statewide advocacy efforts, and building strategic partnerships that enhance the capacity and collective impact of the nonprofit sector. Current partners include Amazon, Allegheny Franciscan Ministries, Memorial Health System, and the Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship.
