“A Gables Fourth” Celebration and Fireworks Extravaganza, the annual Fourth of July event, co-hosted by the City of Coral Gables and the Biltmore Hotel, 1200 Anastasia Ave., will mark the anniversary of the country’s independence and the city’s centennial anniversary with colorful fireworks and drone displays and a concert by the Greater Miami Symphonic Band.
The grounds open at 5 p.m., the concert begins at 7 p.m., and the drone show, and fireworks launch at 9 p.m. General admission is free. Concessions and food trucks will be available.
“We are thrilled to welcome the community to this hallmark summer event which honors our nation’s independence,” said Fred Couceyro, director of the Community Recreation Department. “This year’s celebration will be especially meaningful as we mark the city’s centennial with a dynamic Coral Gables themed drone show, colorful fireworks and live music for this patriotic community event. It’s going to be an unforgettable evening of community pride and celebration.”
Attendees are encouraged to arrive by bike at the Biltmore Hotel. Easy, secure, and complimentary bike valet parking is provided by No Boundaries from the William H. Kerdyk Biltmore Tennis Center, 1150 Anastasia Ave.
Limited free parking will be available beginning at 5 p.m. at Municipal Garage 4, located at 345 Andalusia Ave. and the Museum Garage at 220 Aragon Ave. Shuttle pickups will take place starting at 5 p.m. from Coral Gables City Hall at 405 Biltmore Way and will end at 8:15 p.m. Return shuttles will continue throughout the evening back to City Hall.
The intersection of Catalonia and Anastasia avenues will serve as the drop-off and pickup point for ADA, Freebee and rideshare services.
Attendees are reminded that no pets, fireworks, weapons, grills, glass items or tents are allowed on the grounds. Only personal size coolers (able to be carried on a rider’s lap while on the trolley) will be permitted. Service animals are welcome. The Coral Gables Police Department will direct traffic and reminds attendees that parking is not permitted on streets and that access to streets near the Biltmore will be limited to residents.
