The Alhambra Orchestra presents its popular annual celebration of chamber works, free to the public, on Sunday, Mar. 1, 7:30 p.m., in historic Coral Gables Congregational Church.
Enjoy the rarely heard original version of Copland’s Appalachian Spring for small ensemble. Pianist Ciro Fodere and violinist Daniel Andai will be featured in Mendelssohn’s lyrical Concerto for Violin and Piano.
Orchestra members in small ensembles of strings and winds will perform three more lively and romantic works: Elgar’s Serenade for Strings and Nimrod, and a special version of Mozart’s Magic Flute featuring principal flute Carol Naveira Nicholson with the orchestra’s wind section.
Bring the whole family to enjoy this intimate, varied performance. The Alhambra Orchestra is Miami’s community orchestra, presenting live classical performances in affordable, convenient venues. Admission is free to the public and no tickets are required.
Coral Gables Congregational Church is located at 3010 De Soto Blvd., Coral Gables, 33134. For questions or to request special accommodations, contact Alhambra Orchestra at 305-668-9260, or send email to music@alhambraorchestra.org.
