The City of Coral Gables General Biennial Election is scheduled for Tuesday, Apr. 11.
Residents can vote early; drop off mail-in ballots at the Coral Gables War Memorial Youth Center, 405 University Dr., or in person on Election Day at their assigned precincts.
In Group One, Vince Lago is automatically reelected mayor because he is running unopposed. There are two commission seats that are vacant, the ones currently occupied by Commissioner Michael Mena and by interim commissioner Jim Cason. Mena chose not to run for reelection and Cason was only temporarily filling the commission seat vacated by Jorge Fors when he ran for the County Commission.
The candidates vying for those two seats are as follows:
In Group Four — Yvette Arango O’Doski, Melissa Castro, Jackson Rip Holmes, and Sean Patrick McGrover. In Group Five — Alexander Luis Bucelo and Ariel Fernandez.
