Curbelo, local officials attend Merrick Manor top-off event

More than 400 guests visited the Coral Gables site of Merrick Manor to celebrate the early topping off of construction of the 10-story, 227-residence luxury project on Friday, Oct. 27. Located at 301 Altara Ave., across from the Shops at Merrick Park, Merrick Manor is the city’s first residential project in many years.

Attendees included U.S. Rep. Carlos Curbelo; Coral Gables Mayor Raul Valdes-Fauli, and Coral Gables commissioners Vince Lago, Michael Mena and Frank Quesada. They joined Henry Torres, founder, president and CEO of Merrick Manor developer, The Astor Companies; Daniel de la Vega, president of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, and Abel Ramirez, president of project general contractor JAXI Builders, in touring the project and enjoying the festivities.

After topping off several months ahead of schedule, the completion date for Merrick Manor has been moved up from January 2019 to the fourth quarter of 2018. More than 55 percent of the project is under contract, with prices for remaining units starting in the $500,000s and ranging up to $2.5 million. Remaining units range from 747 square feet to more than 3,400 square feet.
