Panter, Panter, and Sampedro (PPS) is proud to announce that it
has awarded Lauren Bartel of Gulliver Preparatory School as the 2022 recipient of one of its annual student scholarships.
Bartel has demonstrated initiative, hard work, and dedication to her studies and her community throughout her high school career. This level of commitment has earned her acceptance into the prestigious Harvard College this fall, pursuing a liberal arts education as an undergraduate. Bartel has a strong desire to make a difference in this world through environmental and ecological education and protection, social and gender justice, artistic expression, and social enterprise on a large scale.
In addition to the Panter, Panter, and Sampedro 2022 student scholarship, Bartel has also been awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award for “commitment to strengthening the nation, the state, and communities through exemplary volunteer service,” as well as the Congressional Award Gold Medal, the highest honor Congress may bestow upon a youth civilian, for “leadership, service, and personal achievements.”
“I am profoundly connected to the Pinecrest community in many ways and am honored to be another recipient of one of the many Panter, Panter & Sampedro Scholarships,” said Bartel. “I aspire to one day earn a Ph.D. and become a university professor focused on teaching and research in evolutionary biology and environmental sciences, while continuing my other passions for writing and artwork that might connect with and inspire others–all as part of a multi-faceted career.”
“Here at Panter, Panter, and Sampedro we feel privileged to support students like Lauren Bartel with their educational goals,” said Mitch Panter, managing partner of PPS. “These are students who not only have the drive and commitment to go after their dreams, but also a strong desire to contribute to our community. We cannot wait to see what Lauren does next.”
