The four art proposals selected for public comment

The City of Coral Gables wants to get public feedback regarding the various artwork proposals, to select which one will be installed permanently at the city’s new Public Safety Building, currently under construction.

More than 90 responses from professional working artists were received as part of a Request for Qualifications seeking to create an iconic artwork that will serve as a memorial to honor our public safety professionals. Of the qualifications received, the following four artists were invited to submit their original ideas: José Bedia, Cherrylion Studios, Ivan Toth Depeña and Robert Lazzarini.

Now is your turn to give your comments via email at aipp@coralgables.com (subject line: AiPP PSB Comment). Comments will be accepted until March 15. Following the public comment period, a public art review panel will meet to discuss the proposals.

  1. Gross! Cherrylion is the only one that is halfway decent. The once upon a time “City Beautiful” is now a concrete canyon with no artistic sensibilities.
