Coral Gables War Memorial Youth Center is undergoing several upgrades as part of an extensive capital improvement program.
The city is renovating the basketball courts, repairing all iron gates, wire mesh and bleachers in the field complex, installing a new field irrigation system, and re-grading and re-sodding of the athletic field surface. Work is expected to be completed by the end of October.
Work began this summer for the first phase of $1.2 million worth of improvements at the War Memorial Youth Center. Future projects planned for the Youth Center within the next year will consist of the replacement of the outdoor and indoor playgrounds, extensive repair of the Youth Center facility roof, equipment improvements for the gymnastics center as well as improvements to the theater and the interior courtyard.
Once all the work is completed, the newly renovated War Memorial Youth Center will become a facility of which residents can be proud. If you have any questions or need additional information, call the Parks and Recreation Department at 305-460-5620.
