A spooky yet family oriented Halloween event takes place at Cutler Ridge Park in Cutler Bay on Friday October 30 from 6 to 9 p.m. There’s a haunted house, costume contest, “Track or Trick” (candy handed out to youngsters around the perimeter of the park’s track), a Candy Spider Egg Hunt, food and lots more. A champ of camp. We hear from the folks at Pinecrest Gardens that they’re showing the classic cult film, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, on Friday October 30, at 8:00 p.m. in their recently renovated Banyan Bowl amphitheater. The 1975 Rrated film was based on the hit London musical The Rocky Horror Show and features many of that production’s original stars, including Tim Curry. It’s a film known for audience participation, props and costumes, so come prepared! The movie is free to the public and refreshments will be available for purchase before the film begins. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Pinecrest Gardens is located at 11000 Red Road in Pinecrest, just up the road from Palmetto Bay and Cutler Bay.
National YoungArts Foundation presents their latest series, Pairings at Ted’s, bringing the music, art and food-loving Miami community a one-of-a-kind experience. It launches on Friday, October 30th, with singer/songstress Amanda Crider of IlluminArts and Seraphic Fire leading an ensemble filled with melodies of the macabre with Musimelange. You can choose between the three-course prix fixe dinner by Starr Catering Group with two choices of appetizers, entrées and an assortment of desserts at $95 per person (drinks, tax and tip extra), at 7:00 p.m., with preferred seating and table service, or general admission priced at $35 per person, open at 7:30 p.m., with small plates, wine and spirits available for purchase on site. Kiwanis of Little Havana and Crowns of Love present Once Bitten: Halloween Party on October 31 at Club 50, the Viceroy Hotel, 485 Brickell Avenue. There’ll be scary surprises, amazing music and fun. It’s from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit educational and mentorship programs for children across South Florida. Temple Beth Am’s Annual Chanukah & Holiday Bazaar will be on Wednesday, November 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at
Temple Beth Am, 5950 N. Kendall Drive, Pinecrest in the ballroom. Entrance is free and the bazaar is open to the public. Proceeds benefit the Youth Scholarship Fund that gives young people incredible educational experiences that they would not be able to have otherwise. Their high school age Temple Youth Group will be selling baked goods and be available to meet and greet Temple members and visitors. There’ll be a wide variety of vendors selling jewelry, handbags, belts, Judaica, handmade hair accessories, children’s clothing, toys, women’s apparel, personalized custom items and gifts, travel accessories, invitations, home décor gifts and many other things. There’s ample parking for hundreds of cars.
