Burlington Stores Inc., through its partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, is donating $10,000 to Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ Jack D. Gordon Elementary in Country Walk in celebration of Burlington’s new store in Kendall.
Representatives from Burlington Stores presented the check to Jack D. Gordon Elementary School principal Maileen A. Ferrer during an assembly at the school on Oct. 17.
A representative from AdoptAClassroom.org contacted school district administrators and helped to secure the donation for Jack D. Gordon Elementary School which will provide money for new supplies for each teacher’s classroom.
“On behalf of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, I would like to thank Burlington and AdoptAClassroom.org for adopting our entire school,” Ferrer said. “Our teachers look forward to using the funds to enhance learning in our school and in their classrooms.”
