Greg Barnes, president of Bill Ussery Motors, parent company of Mercedes-Benz of Cutler Bay, announced recently that Luke Elder, a Palmetto Bay resident, has been named operations manager at the South Miami-Dade Mercedes-Benz dealership.
“I am honored to join the Bill Ussery Motors Group and look forward to contributing to the continued growth and success of Mercedes-Benz of Cutler Bay,” said Elder, who recently moved to Miami from Jacksonville to take the position. “There is no organization like Bill Ussery Motors.
“Having worked at Mercedes-Benz USA for more than 10 years, I have extensive knowledge of Mercedes-Benz dealerships from all over the country. I know Mercedes-Benz of Cutler Bay to be an exceptional company in terms of its leadership, sales, service and parts teams, and business operations.”
Elder joined Mercedes-Benz USA in 2003 as a member of its Business Management Associate Program. He worked his way up the ranks to becoming regional area manager in 2009. It is one of the organization’s most important leadership positions and where he was tasked with leading area dealers and field staff in all aspects of the automotive business.
“Luke is uniquely qualified for this role because of his history with Mercedes-Benz and the incredible experience he has gained through working in various aspects of the business,” Barnes said. “He will be a true asset to our organization.”
Elder, originally from Tennessee, attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He is married and has one child.
