There’s a lot going on this month, and with the departure of two members of the Town Council—Mayor Peggy Bell and Councilmember Mary Ann Mixon—a number of changes as well in the community. One special event of merit is the Veterans Day Breakfast on November 10, from 9 – 11 a.m. at Macita’s Restaurant & Bakery, located at 18533 South Dixie Hwy in Cutler Bay.
The Town is inviting all veterans to attend the free breakfast honoring those who have served or are currently serving in our Armed Forces. But space is limited to the first 20 RSVP’s, so if you’re interested you’d better hurry. Contact KThomas@cutlerbay-fl.gov or call 786-573-5577 to reserve your seat.
Veterans Day is of course actually on Monday, November 12, and Town Hall Offices will be closed in observance of the holiday.
Active Adults: Dimensions Dance Theater at SMDCAC. On Friday November 16 at 10:30 a.m. the Town of Cutler Bay will offer a showing by the Dimensions Dance Theater of Miami at the

And don’t forget that Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 22, and that Town Hall Offices will be closed on that day and also on Friday November 23 in observance of the holiday.
Decades Rewind at SMDCAC… On November 24, 8 p.m., at the South Miami Dade Cultural Arts Center, 10950 SW 211 Street in Cutler Bay, there’s a multi-media concert celebrating the greatest hits of the 60s, 70s and 80s. Using a big screen video and dynamic staging they will bring back the era and songs of Abba, Aretha, The Beatles, Prince and many more. The town is offering a $10 Special Ticket Rate for town residents to this show. Use coupon code CBDR18 at https://smdcac.org/events/decades-rewind-0.
Boo! We hear that lots of Cutler Bay residents and neighbors attended the Town’s Annual Halloween Event on Friday, October 26, at Cutler Ridge Park. In fact, this year’s event broke the attendance record, with more than 4,000 attendees enjoying the festivities. “The family-friendly event provided many fun activities and features which included: face painting, bounce houses, food trucks, a photo booth, a haunted house, games, music and a Halloween costume contest.” Great job, Cutler Bay staff!
With holiday shopping already underway or just around the corner, always keep in mind basic safety tips like don’t leave gift purchases visible in your vehicle, whether in the parking area at malls or even in front of your house, always be aware of your surroundings and watch out for muggers, pickpockets and thieves. Enjoy your time with family and friends, but also show a little kindness to others. And whenever possible, try to shop local. Small neighborhood businesses will appreciate your patronage and it’s good for the community economy.
