InterContinental at Doral Miami, for the eighth consecutive year, opened its doors to support and benefit Susan G. Komen® Miami/Ft. Lauderdale. The “Pop of Pink” campaign culminated Oct. 27 with a fashion exhibition where breast cancer survivors modelled designs curated by the students of the Miami Fashion Institute of Miami Dade College.
With the monies raised through ticket sales, donations made at the front desk, ancillary events, and more, InterContinental at Doral Miami presented more than $30,000.00 to Susan G. Komen® Miami/Ft. Lauderdale. This year’s campaign was in partnership with the Fashion Institute of Miami Dade College and White’s Art Gallery.
“We simply could not have done it without the support of those who donated money and their services – and of course the participants who purchased tickets and made donations,” said Randal Pasut, General Manager of InterContinental at Doral Miami.
Supporters included MEC Fitness, Brown & Brown, Palmetto General Hospital, Westland Mall, Miami Fashion Institute, PSAV, The Mall Hair Salon, Sephora at Miami International Mall, Sir Speedy, D-Zigners, and White’s Art Gallery.
For the past seven years, the hotel has hosted a fundraising campaign for SGK Miami/Ft. Lauderdale to bring awareness to the community and to help find a cure for breast cancer. Monies raised locally help provide treatment in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe Counties, screening mammograms, or to patients in need of assistance with covering the cost of diagnostic exams or chemotherapy treatment, and other financial assistance.
“Supporting partners like the InterContinental at Doral Miami and events like these are what make our services and Komen possible,” said Sherri Martens-Curtis, Executive Director of Susan G. Komen® of Miami/Ft. Lauderdale.
