Dr. Miguel Diaz is a clinical and interventional cardiologist specializing in the treatment of adult cardiovascular diseases. Dr. Diaz specializes in structural heart disease, complex coronary and valvular interventions, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), peripheral arterial disease and general cardiology. In 2019, Dr. Diaz performed the BASILICA procedure as a treatment for high-risk coronary artery occlusion during TAVR in tandem with his interventional cardiology team. In addition, Dr. Diaz offers mitral regurgitation (MR) treatment via the MitraClip procedure and helps reduce the risk of stroke in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (AFib) with the Watchman device. Dr. Diaz is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology, and the American Board of Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Diaz has been practicing medicine since 2001 and is bilingual in English and Spanish. For his education and training, Dr. Diaz completed fellowships in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiovascular disease as well as internal medicine residency and internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. Dr. Diaz graduated medical school from the University of Miami School of Medicine.
