Concluding its Golden Anniversary community outreach, Perry Ellis International (PEI) recently partnered with United Way and one of its affiliate organizations, Branches, to clothe some of the South Florida-based families still recovering from Hurricane Irma. Branches provides life-changing services including financial coaching, academic tutoring, mentoring, and enrichment programs.
Members of these partner organizations received complimentary transportation to and from the Perry Ellis International Palmetto Retail Store Outlet via international ride-share service, Lyft. The majority of attendees, students in high school and college, were paired with expert retail store associates who styled and provided assistance selecting outfits suited for their respective needs, including job interviews, daily work attire and casual/sportswear.
The recipients included recent grads from Florida International University, Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, and a future student of University of South Florida.
Joined by parents and siblings, the families enjoyed the opportunity to be outfitted in Perry Ellis apparel, leaving the outlet with a confidence boost and positive self-image. The initiative is a continuation of PEI’s ongoing effort to support the local community and is part of the firm’s long-standing partnership with United Way.
“Giving back to the local community is part of our corporate DNA. A new outfit can be a powerful tool to help them get back on their feet while boosting their image and morale,” said Lori Medici, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications for PEI. “We look forward to continuing work with organizations United Way a premier corporate philanthropic partner and Branches to continue supporting our South Florida neighbors.”
Corporate attendees included: Lori Medici, SVP; Marsha Maya, Director Retail Services; Anthony Perez, Development Office United Way of Miami-Dade; and Kim Fields, Branches Director of Student Services
