Women & Men Voices
March 28 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
$33.00
Celebrates the creative life force, story telling and exploration of the intersection of the life experience, artistic expression and gender codes within society’s social and cultural construct, by three of PLGDC women dancers; Stephanie Franco, Mar’Kayla Michel and Kayin Knighton.
Peter London’s new work for six men delves deep into a dynamic and unapologetic emotional extreme; normality of beauty is obliterated, arriving at an electric male virility (“divine ugliness” Martha Graham.) Yet, even in its twisted and mangled voluptuousness, the beauty of the divine form of the body cannot be denied.
The program includes Jamar Roberts “A FOLK’S TALE”; a powerful encapsulated gem of the African American experiences. London’s Carnival street fete” Caribbean Suite with music by the renowned and award winning Jazz Trumpeter and composer Etienne Charles, closes out this thrilling and high spirited performance.
