Amerant Bank, the largest community bank headquartered in Florida, recently announced the appointment of two new members to its executive leadership team: Marshall Martin as executive vice president, Chief Administrative and Legal Officer, and Mariola Sanchez as executive vice president, Chief People Officer.

Marshall Martin is joining the Bank from Amerant Mortgage, a joint venture between the bank and a team of highly specialized residential real estate executives with a long track record of success in the residential mortgage arena, which offers the full complement of residential lending solutions to include conventional, government, Jumbo loans and unique product offerings.

In his new role, Martin is responsible for the organization’s administrative support functions, including Facilities, Physical Security, Vendor Management and Procurement, in addition to the Legal, Corporate Governance and Corporate Secretary divisions.

Mariola Sanchez, with an educational background in human behavior and law, in addition to 15 years working at Amerant as general counsel, brings organizational knowledge and an informed perspective to her new role. Sanchez now is responsible for employee learning and development, talent management, total rewards, and diversity and inclusion, in keeping with Amerant’s ESG goals.

“We have ambitious goals for growth in 2022 and future periods,” said Jerry Plush, chair and CEO, Amerant Bank. “This leadership realignment will further position us to achieve our strategic priorities, while striving to provide a best-in-class customer experience.”
