The City of Fort Lauderdale’s Housing Rehabilitation Program is part of a comprehensive revitalization effort to preserve and improve our community’s residential neighborhoods. The program supports qualified single-family homeowners and provides home repairs to address code violations, and health and safety issues, including:
** Electrical ** Plumbing ** Roofing ** Windows ** AC & Heating ** Structural Items ** Flooring Replacement ** Bathroom Repairs ** Special Needs ** And more!
To qualify, homeowners must meet the HUD income limits, provide proof of current mortgage insurance and property taxes payment, have no liens against the property, have no reverse mortgage in place, must occupy the home as their principal place of residency, and have a current Homestead Exemption. Only 15 qualified applicants will be accepted.

Assistance is given to homeowners on a first-come, first-qualified, first-served basis. The property must have documented disrepair or have violations of the City’s housing code.
The Housing Rehabilitation Program is designed to assist very low-, low-, or moderate-income homeowners by providing decent, safe, and sanitary housing units. The program has a total of $700,000 in available funding and provides individual households a 15-year lien on a rehabilitation project up to $60,000. The program is not for home remodeling, such as swimming pool repairs or additions to increase the square footage of the home.
