The League of Women Voters of Miami-Dade County (LWVMD), one of South Florida’s leading voting rights organization, will host its annual Women Who Shine award ceremony, which recognizes women who have made outstanding contributions to the community and serve as role models for future generations.
The event will take place on Sunday, April 14, from 11 AM to 2 PM, at the Rusty Pelican, located at 3201 Rickenbacker Causeway, Key Biscayne, FL. Cheyenne Kippenberger, former Ms. Seminole USA, Ms. Indian World, and a motivational speaker and Indigenous rights activist, will be the emcee. Florida State Representative Vicki Lopez (HD 113) will be the keynote speaker.

The LWVMD’s president, Ibis Valdés, shared her thoughts about the upcoming award ceremony. “We are so excited to champion Miami-Dade County’s remarkable women who embody the League’s mission of empowering their colleagues and communities, regardless of gender, sex, race, ability, or political affiliation,” she said. “These amazing leaders exemplify the spirit of advocacy and leadership.”
