With the 2024 MLB Draft set to take place from July 14-16, the Miami Marlins are looking to take advantage of what the organization believes is an exciting group of talent.

The Marlins currently hold the 16th overall pick in the first round, along with 20 additional selections throughout the three-day draft. Each selection represents an opportunity for the organization to improve, and the Marlins intend on capitalizing as much as possible.

“I think there are a lot of reasons for fans to be excited,” said Frankie Piliere, Marlins Director of Amateur Scouting. “This is a really interesting, diverse draft class. Everyone likes to talk about whether a draft class is strong, but there are always Major Leaguers in these classes. When you look back year after year, you’re going to find some really interesting players.”

The Marlins will make 19 additional selections over the three-day draft, with each representing an opportunity for the organization to bolster its foundation and future. Given the makeup of this particular class, Piliere is looking forward to the task.

“I’m very excited because I think there’s depth in this class,” said Piliere. “When Marlins fans watch our draft, I hope that they’re looking at the 10th round and beyond too. We’re still going to have the pedal down and try to get great Big Leaguers in those rounds. We are not going to let a round go to waste because there are plenty of great players out there, whether that’s the 10th round, 12th round, or 18th round.”
