Palmer Trinity School has named Hugo Mantilla as chair of the Board of Trustees. His term will begin with the start of the 2019-20 school year.
The board’s former chair, Michael Baiamonte, will become trustee emeritus.
“We are very pleased to be welcoming Hugo as our new chairman of the board. He has been a board of trustee member since 2013 and is attuned to our mission and the goals we’ve set for the coming years,” stated Patrick Roberts, head of school.
Mantilla is an institutional consulting director with Graystone Consulting, a business of Morgan Stanley.
Prior to joining Graystone Consulting, Mantilla was an executive director, Private Wealth Advisor for Morgan Stanley in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area for 10 years; and before that he was a senior vice president at Lehman Brothers.
Mantilla holds an MBA from Columbia University, a master’s in international business from the London Business School, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern New Hampshire University.
Mantilla is an active member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and was recently honored by the organization as Big Brother of the Year. Mantilla was one of two volunteer mentors chosen from out of close to 150,000 “Bigs” nationwide. He has been a mentor and Big Brother to his Little Brother for more than a decade. Mantilla also gives back to the community as a member of Ashoka.
“I’m very excited about this new role and look forward to continuing the innovation and excellence in education as well as the global citizenship that has come to define Palmer Trinity,” Mantilla said.
