It was all fun and games at the Coral Gables Sir Pizza recently when University of Miami’s Giant Ibis “Sebastian” sauntered in to the popular restaurant much to the surprise and delight of lunch time patrons. Like a giant kid let loose on the playground he confidently walked up to adults and children alike offering animated hellos and high fives.
The special Sebastian visit also happened at the Palmetto Bay and Pinecrest location the same day. Sebastian and his UM team brought along the first distributed posters of the fall UM football season. “Sir Pizza is the official pizza of the UM and what we do together starts exclusively here and then goes out to the mainstream,” said Sir Pizza President and CEO Rene Prats. “Sebastian brought in the new football schedule posters, some of which are signed by Coach Al Golden. Anybody who receives one of the signed posters will get free pizza.”
