“Comedy On Tap!” Homefield Comedy Club & Grill makes comedy its focus

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]hen most people think of Miami; the beach, abundance of sun, and diverse culture are often at the forefront of a person’s memory.  However, the city has long since marked itself in the entertainment world as well.  From Hollywood celebrities to music legends, Miami gets it all. It is no surprise that comedy has found its way onto the scene and has become a popular nightlife routine for many locals and visitors.

Homefield was a large club – turned – sports bar located in Kendall Village off the Florida Turnpike in Miami back in 2012.  Comedy began as a small routine offered to customers in one of the private rooms.  It wasn’t until the Miami Improv from neighboring Coconut Grove closed down in late 2013 that Homefield decided to begin a new venture with the former Miami Improv

The venue has traditionally been known as a great spot for locals to eat, drink and enjoy some of Miami’s favorite sporting events in its large 12,000-square-foot facility.  In May of 2014, the addition of comedy was added to the entertainment offerings.  Rob Schneider, Michael Yo, and Carlos Mencia were just some of the names that came to perform during that time.

After a year of sporadic comedy entertainment, Homefield decided to launch a totally full-comedy club in January of this year and changed its name to Homefield Comedy Club & Grill.

With a new vision for the club and an addition of things like soundproof curtains and acoustics, Homefield has become a rival to high-end comedy clubs.

Offering full service and a diverse food and beverage menu, quality has not only driven the venue renovations but has also driven the food it chooses to serve.

Now hosting comedy every weekend, Homefield Comedy Club & Grill has been able to establish a positive relationship with visiting comedians and many have said they preferred the venue to others they have performed at.

The club is currently looking to support the community, providing fundraising opportunities to local organizations and causes as well as accommodating private functions day or night.  They will be hosting a three day event next week with comedian Felipe Esparza and proceeds going to a local girl in Cutler Bay.  For more information, call (305)-412-2220 or visit HomefieldComedy.com.
