Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida hosted the fourth annual Campfires to Cocktails gala at Camp Mahachee on Saturday, November 9. This unique evening of glamping offered attendees the chance to experience the excitement of activities that Girl Scouting offers in the beautiful 11 acres of hardwood hammock in Coral Gables. Exciting options included archery, fencing, axe throwing, and making their own friendship bracelets and, of course, s’mores with Girl Scout Cookie options at the campfire. The event raised almost $500,000 for the organization and the nearly 3,000 girls it serves throughout Miami-Dade and the Keys. Host Committee members included co-chairs and GSTF board members Gloria M. Velazquez and Ray Dueñas; Irela Bague; Tami Blanco; C. Patricia Cruz; Monique Lavender Greenberg; Michelle Harris; Jana Hertz; Debbie Koch; Samantha Murphy; Ileana Musa; Erica Rule; and Leah Sylvester.
