As the Art Basel buzz begins to build, one Miami Beach spa is offering locals and visitors alike a moment of meaningful pause. K’Alma Spa, located inside the historic Victor Hotel, will host Art & Design with Purpose, a special pre-Basel gathering on Tuesday, December 2, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The event features acclaimed artist and interior designer Michelle Applebaum, whose work is known for its vibrant, emotion-driven approach. Applebaum will bring her signature style to the tranquil setting of K’Alma Spa, offering guests a multisensory experience that blends creativity, spirituality, and wellness.
“Michelle’s work reminds us that beauty has a purpose,” said Marizza Contreras, founder of K’Alma Spa. “Our goal is to create a space where that purpose can be felt, not just seen.”
Guests will be invited to explore Applebaum’s installations and artwork while enjoying curated hors d’oeuvres, herbal elixirs, and healing touchpoints throughout the spa. More than just a gallery walk, the event is intended to ground attendees before the sensory overload of Miami Art Week.
In keeping with the season’s spirit of giving, K’Alma Spa is also offering a promotional gift package: purchase a $100 gift certificate and receive two additional $50 gift cards. Attendees will also get a sneak peek at spa offerings for 2026.
Art & Design with Purpose aligns with K’Alma’s larger mission of intentional self-care. Rooted in Andean healing traditions, the spa is known for chakra-aligning treatments, spirit animal-inspired rituals, and energetic therapies aimed at realignment and restoration.
