Restyle Nissan 370z Nismo 2015 is more aerodynamic

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Nissan 370Z NISMO 2015 has been redesigned to give the popular little sports car a new level of distinctive style and performance. It comes closely on the heels of the introduction of Nissan’s GT-R NISMO and JUKE NISMO RS models.

Built on a legacy of more than 30 years in auto racing, NISMO is the heart and soul of Nissan performance for both track and street. The 370Z NISMO is the flagship of the Nissan Z lineup and since its introduction as part of the original 350Z lineup it has been the heart of NISMO’s race-proven engineering.

Along with the new look, two other major changes have been added to the 370Z NISMO for 2015 — a new Tech model with standard Nissan Navigation System and an available seven-speed automatic transmission option. But the most striking revision is the refreshed exterior design. Its GT-Rinspired functional and fully integrated aerodynamic body pieces have been redesigned for a more aerodynamic look, as well to optimize front and rear downforce.

Upfront, changes include a dramatic deep front fascia with Hyper LED Daytime Running Lights and black headlight bezels to differentiate the NISMO more from standard 370Z Coupes. A fully integrated chin spoiler enhances airflow and downforce for better aerodynamics. The front also adds a NISMO emblem and signature NISMO red stripe accents that continue from the spoiler down the special side sill protectors. In addition to a bold new rear fascia, the unique NISMO rear spoiler has been reshaped and downsized. The 370Z NISMO is now about three inches shorter at 170.5 inches overall, though remaining three inches longer overall than a standard 370Z Coupe. As usual, the rear is capped by a pair of large chrome-tipped exhaust pipes. Adding to the look are distinctive 19-inch super-lightweight forged aluminum-alloy wheels by RAYS.

The NISMO motorsports look and feel continues inside the driver-centric two-seat cabin. The interior is enhanced with redesigned black-and-red Recaro leatherappointed seats with Alcantara accents codeveloped exclusively for the new 370Z NISMO. Both the driver and passenger seats have eight-way driver/four-way passenger manual adjustments. The interior layout is built around a deeply scooped instrument panel with a full-length center console separating the driver and passenger’s seat.

Under the hood, the 370Z NISMO continues with a 350 hp 3.7-liter DOHC V-6 engine with Variable Valve Event and Lift Control (VVEL). Two transmission choices are offered for the first time on a Z NISMO model — a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission with SynchroRev Match, the first ever synchronized downshift rev matching manual transmission, and a newly available seven-speed automatic also with Downshift Rev Matching (DRM), Adaptive Shift Control and manual shift mode with paddle shifters.

The base MSRP on the 2015 Nissan 370Z NISMO is $41,990.
