For almost fifty years, the Beth Am Basketball League has been a unifying force in the community, bringing students and families together from all different backgrounds. After a forced hiatus due to covid, the Beth Am Basketball league finally returned for an enlivening, successful season last spring. Beth Am is thrilled to host the league once again this fall!
The league will run from the end of August through mid-December and will welcome boys in 4th through 7th grade and girls in 4th through 8th grade.
Sal Sicuso, a local Pinecrest attorney, has had children playing Beth Am Basketball since 2011.
“This league is simply the finest,” he says. “From the commissioners to the coaches to the officials, it’s like a well-oiled machine. Kids at every level can have fun and learn in a program steeped in tradition.”
His son Jake, a rising seventh-grader at Palmetto Middle School, joined the league for his first basketball experience last spring.
“I was a bit hesitant at first, but going for it was the best decision I’ve ever made,” says Jake. “My coaches were the best. They taught me skills, teamwork, self-discipline, and how to have fun. And at the same time, I made great friends. I’m going to play basketball for life!”
After her first season playing rookie girls, 10-year-old Oceana Bain agrees.
“I had a very good experience, and it was a lot of fun. In games, everyone gets equal playing time.”
Registration is now open for the following divisions:
● Rookie Girls: 4th & 5th Grade
● Rookie Boys: 4th & 5th Grade
● Junior Girls: 6th, 7th & 8th Grade
● Junior Boys: 6th & 7th Grade
Evaluations will be held on August 27-28. All players must register to be evaluated. To register, please visit the Beth Am Basketball website at TBAM.org/basketball.
