The Friendship Circle’s Annual Evening of Tribute was held Tuesday, May 21st at Evelyn Greek Park, honoring the non-profit’s network of more than two-hundred teen volunteers who provide one-on-one friendship and mentoring to community children, teen, and adults with special needs.
This event’s theme, The Art of Friendship, paid tribute to the uniqueness, beauty, and timelessness of each friendship! The Friendship Circle, which has promoted volunteerism for youth, and inclusion, for more than 15 years, unveiled its plans for a new state-of-the-art campus to replace its current facility located at 8700 SW 112th Street, to provide the necessary space to support the swelling number of children who have special needs and the non-profits group of volunteers.
State Representative Vance Aloupis presented honors to the Friendship Circle’s outstanding volunteers for the 2018-2019 school year and families and friends said farewell to the senior volunteers, many of whom will next year attend the nation’s prestigious universities, including Yale, Brown, John Hopkins, Emory, and Cornell.
