The incredible young athletes at Mast Academy Water Polo Boys Team is breaking the news this year 2016. After unbeatably winning 15 inter-school classic games in a row against other top high schools in Miami, this boys’ team won last March 30th 2016 the GMAC competition at Miami Dade College facility north campus.
These talented athletes are not only focused on themselves but are also making a great impact in the community by spending their summer time counseling Kids with special needs. Most of the kids at the MAST water polo team work as sports camp counselors at the Special Olympics and Shake a Leg programs for Children with disability.
Aiming to win the District Games next April the team is training at super speed guided by Coach Yuniel Usin & Coach Assistant Ivan Varela. Coach Yuni who has been coaching Mast Academy water polo for almost 10 years, have helped these boys beat tough rivals and have used his experience to make the young athletes a competitive team.
Heading now to the Regional Tournament the team goalies junior Ivan Varela and sophomore Alejandro Pascual said “Our goal is more than qualifying for Districts. We want to make it to the States”. Mast Academy water polo team is definitely a dedicated team with combined talent, experience and great dedication with a lot of potential to go all the way to States games.
