El Car Wash was founded by two Miami-native entrepreneurs in 2010 and grew to four locations. Recently, young private equity partners Justin Landau & Geoff Karas arrived with new energy and an expanded vision for the business. It’s a classic story of reinvention and capital infusion… and it’s happening right here.

“The car wash is contactless, meaning you never need to come in contact with our staff as our 100+ foot long high quality wash tunnel washes and dries the exterior of your car in under three minutes,” explained Landau. “We consider ourselves a service provider that rises above all other car washes.”
And with LED disco lights adding to the experience, this isn’t your father’s style car wash anymore.
With a distinct two-story design, a bay of free high-powered vacuums and the Miami Vice color scheme, El Car Wash locations are easy to spot. You probably already saw their new location at 14031 S. Dixie Highway in Palmetto Bay, just north of Sunstate Bank. They call it their Pinecrest location because another will be opening in Palmetto Bay at SW 160th Street in the months to come.
Besides computer-driven accuracy in each wash, El Car Wash is unique in that they are a network of car wash locations, allowing you to purchase and utilize a generous unlimited monthly membership club to keep your baby whistle-clean every day. And, El Car Wash has an ambitious two-year plan to add 20-30 additional locations beyond the existing eight, running from Miami-Dade to Palm Beach Counties.
Karas said, “It is our goal to be a leader in South Florida, in both locations, convenience and quality of service.”
So, with your RFID sticker membership, you can drive up to any location and never even need to interact with the pay station. It’s just right into the wash tunnel, conveniently saving the consumer time.
By February, Landau and Karas plan to open their flagship location adjacent to Zoo Miami with a 150-foot wash tunnel and 40-vacuum bays, it will be the largest car wash in South Florida.
“It affords us the space for even more equipment which allows us to do an even more complete and better clean,” says Landau.
Impressively, El Car Wash has gone into an unprecedented level of giving during Covid-19.
“We are giving free washes to all pandemic first responders and essential workers, which goes well beyond just doctors and nurses,” Karas explains. “If you serve the community in the grocery business, with food or package delivery, policing or any essential job that keeps the economy going, we want to celebrate and honor your work. We want to give back to the community and be known for being good citizens during these unprecedented times.”
