Following the recent federal court decision to extend Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Venezuelan nationals, the State of Florida has resumed the processing of driver licenses and state identification cards for eligible Venezuelan nationals. The Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office is now assisting individuals with valid TPS documentation, in accordance with guidance from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV).
“This week’s court decision is an important update for many Venezuelan residents in our community who have followed the legal process to maintain their immigration status,” said Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “Every case is different, but our message is simple: if your documents are in order, come to our office. We’ll guide you through the process and help you get the necessary services.” Added Fernandez
We encourage to visit the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) websites for the latest information on eligibility and documentation.
