Experienced banker joins the South Miami Banking Center
City National Bank of Florida (CNB) announced that it has hired Alexandra Ruiz as Assistant Vice President, Personal and Small Business Banker in its South Miami Banking Center.
Ruiz has more than 14 years of experience in the banking industry. She comes to City National Bank after three years at BankUnited where she was the assistant branch manager of its South Miami Plaza location. Prior to that, she worked with Bank of America. She began her banking career at SunTrust where she rose through the ranks during her eight-year tenure there in a variety of positions including private banking specialist and financial sales officer. Ruiz brings significant experience and a wide array of important contacts to her new role at City National Bank.
“Alexandra is a wonderful fit with the City National Bank family and we are pleased to have her join our South Miami banking center,” said Mara Rey Suarez, Executive Vice President of Personal and Business Banking with City National Bank. “Her deep roots in the South Miami community will be an asset as we continue to serve this significant community.”
City National Bank has experienced three consecutive years of increased earnings, strong loan growth and superior asset quality. This year, it has continued its excellent financial results with first quarter 2014 pre-tax income of $18.9 million and net income of $11.6 million. CNB’s loan portfolio grew by $407 million and deposits increased by $395 million in the first quarter compared to the previous year.
City National Bank announced last year that Banco de Credito e Inversiones (Bci) has agreed to acquire the Miami-based bank. Bci, the third-largest bank in Chile, has one of the region’s best credit ratings. It becomes the first bank from Chile to purchase a U.S. bank.
