Web & Social Media Specialist
Amid much fanfare, the City of Sunny Isles Beach website was launched in February 2003. Special exhibits were displayed at Samson Oceanfront Park showcasing the City’s past, present and future; and a fireworks display was presented as a grand finale to the evening!
As with any technology, makeovers and revisions are needed on a regular basis. The Sunny Isles Beach website has been updated twice in the ten years and new features have been added as the need arose. Now, it is time for a major overhaul. This update will serve two purposes: 1) addressing the evolving needs of our residents and 2) providing information to visitors that vacation on our shores.
Knowing that this website upgrade was on the horizon, the city hired someone to take on the job. Meet Web and Social Media Specialist, Leah Einwalter. Even though Leah is relatively new to the City, she brings extensive experience in web design and video production. She has called South Florida her home since 2009 when she arrived from Iowa where she attended University of Northern Iowa graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Electronic Media/Marketing.
Leah wears many hats and her title is in fact misleading. Along with handling the website, the email communication system and the online connection to city services (Ask City Hall), she also assists in the video production and photography section. You may have seen her at events snapping pictures of venders and participants. She also mans one of the two video cameras at our Four Season performances and other City events.
Leah has jumped in with both feet; beginning with handling updates to the present site and is moving on to planning the website makeover. As she works on the design, emphasis will be placed on user-friendly navigation and addressing the ever-changing way people access the web. Future integration may include social media and mobile applications as the City of Sunny Isles Beach strives to improve all lines of communication with our residents and visitors.
