Florida State Federation’s newly chartered chapter to attract politically active women of Miami-Dade County – from Hialeah and Miami Lakes to Aventura and beyond
There’s a new face to Republican politics and activism in town. The Federated Republican Women of North Dade (FRWND) takes off July 19 during a Gala Installation Dinner at the 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant, 1395 NW 57th Ave., Miami, FL 33126, from 7 to 10 p.m.
Founded by long-time political leaders Maricel Cobitz and Inez Yimoc, this new chapter of the Florida Federation of Republican Women was officially chartered on June 4.
A full agenda is planned for the July 19 inaugural meeting, starting with the swearing in of Cobitz and Yimoc as FRWND’s President and Vice President, respectively, officiated by President of the Broward County Chapter Michele M. Merrell. Merrell will also swear in Ada Fennell as Secretary and Jane Muir as Treasurer, and serve as one of several guests speakers for the event.
Gala Keynote Speaker Karen R. Giorno, Senior Political Advisor for Donald J. Trump for President is slated to address attendees along with other prominent guest speakers including: Doral Councilwoman Ana Maria Rodriguez, candidate for Florida State Representative-District 105; and Tiffany Gabbay, PR Consultant-Strategic MGT.
FRWND is a political organization (under Section 527 of the IRS Code) charged with informing, educating, disseminating, and increasing the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government as per charter rules of both the National Federation of Republican Women and the Florida Federation of Republican Women.
“Our new North Dade chapter is a dynamic group seeking to inform and engage Republican women in politics for the good of our country,” says President Cobitz. “And as such, we are looking forward to serving this important yet underserved area of Miami-Dade County.” Cobitz has vast experience serving in local Miami-Dade campaigns supporting President Donald J. Trump, Gov. Mitt Romney, and President George W. Bush.
Vice President Yimoc emphatically echoed Cobitz’s remarks and added, “I whole heartedly believe this will be our best opportunity to make Miami ‘red’ again.” Yimoc is a veteran campaigner and local political strategist.
“And of course we also welcome men into the organization, to join as Associate Members,” she noted, “because there’s strength in numbers — of members!”
The new North Dade chapter is the latest in a growing network of such local organizations of women and their supporters in the State of Florida. FRWND will be responsible for recruiting members, seeking contributions, and hosting events in the northern incorporated and unincorporated areas of Miami-Dade County including Hialeah, Miami Lakes, Palm Springs, Aventura, North Miami Beach, North Miami, Miami Gardens, Sunny Isles, and Golden Beach.
Discounted advance tickets for the Gala, which includes full sit-down dinner, is $30 for Federation members and $40 for non-members.
