Kimberly S. Merchant, Community Services Director for the City of Aventura, was recently awarded the Aventura Humanitarian Award by City Manager Ronald Wasson along with Mayor Enid Weisman, and Commissioners Rachel Friedland and Jonathan Evans.
A special “Thank You” letter accompanied the award, which expressed the appreciation of all the residents of the City of Aventura, the City Commission, City staff and their families and all those individuals she helped, without question, get vaccinated against COVID-19 during one of the most challenging and difficult times in recent history. In recognition of her dedication and perseverance in the face of many challenges, Merchant was recognized as going above and beyond by assisting thousands of people receive the help they couldn’t otherwise find to schedule their COVID vaccinations.
