Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital sponsors meeting to “Catch the Love”

For the hospital and for Seminole Hard Rock’s $2.2 Billion expansion including the Guitar Hotel

Aventura Marketing Council/Chamber of Commerce members were recently treated to a double-header with the amazing expansion of both the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and Seminole Hard Rock’s $2.2 Billion expansion including the Guitar Hotel.

AMC Chairman Gary Pyott, Association 1st and Campbell Property Management, welcomed a full-house audience to the beautiful Trump International Beach Resort for the meeting.

Aurelio Fernandez, CEO of Memorial Healthcare System, said, “ Our Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is the finest pediatric hospital in South Florida. We’re now in our “$50 million “Catch the Love” campaign to build four more stories onto the hospital, part of a $160 million proposal to not only expand children’s services there, but to help us move some of the children currently at Memorial Hospital to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. Our hospital is dependent upon philanthropy, not upon taxes, even though we have taxing authority with the South Broward Hospital District, because we don’t want to be a burden to our community. We want you to be aware of the mission of JDCH and the financial commitment that we have to this community.” With that, he introduced Scott Singer, Associate Administrator of JDCH, who noted, “We are your community pediatric facility; we take care of children in this community and beyond . We are here to take care of trauma center patients, neurosurgery and heart surgery patients, and have successfully completed over 50 children’s heart transplants. We just started our kidney transplant program. We can’t do these things without the support of this community and it has been overwhelming support for the last 27 years since JDCH has been in existence. We are here today with our “Catch the Love “campaign, because that’s what we hear from our patients and families every day when they come to our facility, even though they are coming at perhaps the most frightening time of their lives. We have a team of over 600 physicians and nearly 1,500 employees who are solely focused on taking care of children. Milin and Jessica and Tamela and their wonderful Memorial team have done a fabulous job of giving all of you all the information and you can find out more at jdch.com/give. There’s another very simple way for you to help where it doesn’t cost you a penny. Go to Smile.amazon.com and select Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital as your foundation partner and Amazon will donate ½% of all your sales total to the hospital.”

Singer then introduced Emre Erkul, Senior Vice President of Seminole Hard Rock Support Services, “We’ve all seen or heard about the amazing and Guitar Hotel that is soon to open at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood, and the media is all over this.

But it’s so much more than just the Guitar Hotel, and I’m proud to introduce Emre Erkul to share some exciting details.“

Erkul thanked the AMC and his friend, Floyd Raglin, for introducing him to the Aventura Marketing Council/Chamber of Commerce. “The Seminole Tribe of Florida has owned the Hard Rock International brand since 2006. We operate in 75+ countries in 245+ venues, and are comprised of Hard Rock Cafes, Hard Rock Hotels and Hard Rock Casinos globally, with a systemwide revenue of about $6 billion and over 40,000 employees.

We were very proud to receive the award for the Best Land-Based Gaming Operator in 2018. Another accomplishment was receiving the Top Employer of Choice Award for four consecutive years, against big casino operators around the world.

Our motto is love all serve all and we are connecting people with the experiences that Hard Rock creates, not just creating transactional services. Our Tampa property, one of the most successful casinos in America, is undergoing a $700 million expansion project now, with a 500-room hotel tower, adding to the current 250-room hotel tower, with everything very modern. Very spacious several outdoor pool areas, a new 1,500 seat Hard Rock event center, more restaurants, more gaming floor, more meeting space, more food and beverage outlets. And the piano there is Elvis’s gold-plated piano; Hard Rock has about 83,000 pieces of memorabilia– the largest memorabilia collection in the world that is priceless. Grand opening will be on October 3rd.

With the addition of more than 800 luxury and modern guest rooms, Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood will be home to more than 1,200 rooms and 120,000 sq. ft of meeting space between its three hotel towers. From the new iconic and world’s first Guitar Hotel and the poolside Oasis Tower to the existing Hard Rock Hotel, guests will find their perfect spot. The Guitar Hotel, part of the $2.2 billion expansion, is re-defining the South Florida skyline for decades to come. This architectural marvel is an ergonomic masterpiece that rises 450’ into the sky. The famed designer David Rockwell and his team have created The Oculus, an extremely unique feature in the Guitar Hotel lobby blending music, water and lights in a choreographed, ever-changing show.

The seven-story Oasis Hotel features ‘swim-up’ rooms on the first floor where you walk out of your room and into the pool. The Hard Rock Live event venue has been demolished and a new, $125 million entertainment venue with 6,500 capacity is rising up in its place. And we are excited to bring Broadway shows to Hard Rock Live. Hard Rock Live has already sold out Maroon 5, and coming up is Bocelli, Sting, Kevin James and George Lopez.

And of course, Hard Rock has its name on Hard Rock Stadium, home to Super Bowl 2020, a global entertainment destination and a successful partnership with the Miami Dolphins. We already host international soccer there, the Orange Bowl, the Miami Open, University of Miami games and global entertainment with acts like Rolling Stones, U2, Metallica, Eagles, Coldplay, Taylor Swift and more.
