Elizabeth Fout-Caraza has served the Florida Lions Eye Bank since 1998, when she joined as a recovery technician. In 2005, Fout-Caraza assumed the role of Executive Director and has successfully led the Florida Lions Eye Bank through regulatory changes, technological advances, financial restructuring, and unprecedented growth.
With a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in Hospital Services Administration from Florida International University, Fout-Caraza has exceptional skill sets. In addition to her role as Executive Director of the eye bank, Elizabeth has been awarded the management of the day to day planning and operations for the Beauty of Sight Foundation, as the organization’s Executive Director.
Elizabeth’s dual role is challenging and one she has taken on with her passion for helping others and making a positive impact on the community.The Beauty of Sight Foundation has a mission that envisions a future in which no person will have to live with visual impairment by funding innovative research to scientists on a global scale. As our population ages, impaired vision and blindness become an issue effecting more and more people. Fout-Carraza and her Beauty of Sight Foundation board of directors are gaining support and looking for partnerships with other foundations to address critical needs of people of all ages suffering from impaired sight.
